Kaiyah Mercedes is an LGBTQI+ singer/songwriter who, at just 17 years old, has already gained recognition for her deep and introspective music. Her lyrics are crafted with an intention to connect with listeners, touching on relatable themes such as young love, heartbreak, and the struggles of being a teenager in today’s world. Her music is a testament to her ability to capture the universal experiences of adolescence and beyond.

They begun truly writing in 2020, during the pandemic, a difficult time for most people, including Kaiyah.

Kaiyah Mercedes’ unique ability to express her experiences through art can be attributed in part to her Autism and ADHD. Although only diagnosed in November 2021 at the age of 15, her debut album “Hindsight” reveals a clear theme of self-identity and understanding, and a candid portrayal of her struggles with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Through her lyrics, Kaiyah offers a glimpse into her inner world and the complex emotions she experiences on a daily basis, making her music all the more powerful and relatable and sheds new light on her creative process, adding an extra layer of insight to her already impressive body of work.
